The Veterinary Referral Center of Colorado provides 24 hour care for hospitalized patients. A veterinarian and technician are always on the premises to monitor our patients.
We schedule initial consultation visits several days to one week in advance. Emergencies can be seen immediately. Dental procedures and oral surgeries are usually scheduled one to two weeks in advance. Please call 303-810-6029 to schedule an appointment with the dentistry staff.
Most dental procedures and oral surgeries are performed on an outpatient basis, with your pet admitted to the hospital in the morning and discharged early that same afternoon. For those rare patients who need to remain for overnight care and monitoring, the VRCC provides 24-hour care for hospitalized patients. A doctor and technician are on staff at all times. A technician is specifically assigned to give the personalized care necessary for your pet while it stays overnight at the VRCC. The overnight technicians have been trained in all specialties. Each morning, Dr. Beebe performs an examination on your pet to re-assess current medical status and possible treatment.
Before coming to visit your pet we ask that you first speak with a dentistry staff member. Depending on the type of oral surgery, we sometimes advise against visiting during the first 24 hours following surgery. This is because pets often become excited when they see their "parents" and do not get the absolute rest required for a speedy recovery. In our experience, patients exhaust quickly and benefit from short visits only, therefore visits will be limited to 30 minutes. If your pet is very critical, we may limit visitations to only 10 minutes. Weekend visitation must be arranged through the emergency service. You will receive an information packet describing our service and hospital guidelines.
