CONGRATULATIONS

Dr. Beebe and his wife, Lindsay, became new parents on February 16th, 2008, when their son Colson was born.

New equipment
Apex Dog and Cat Dentistry is committed to providing the most advanced care available in the field of veterinary dentistry. As part of that focus, we constantly update and make additions to our dental equipment and surgical instrumentation. The following equipment is just a small example of some our latest additions.

LIGHTSPEED ENDODONTIC SYSTEM:
Lightspeed is an engine-driven, rotary instrumentation system for performing root canal therapy. This system improves the treatment technique, providing faster, more efficient performance of root canal therapy. In contrast to traditional hand filing techniques, Lightspeed allows efficient cutting and shaping of the canal walls, while maximally conserving unaffected dental tissue.

ENDOVAC:
The recently developed Endovac system is a vacuum-driven instrument that improves cleaning and disinfection of root canal spaces during endodontic procedures. Not only is the canal cleaned more efficiently (which increases overall success rate), it provides increased safety to the root canal patient.

BIORAY DIGITAL RADIOGRAPHY:
Instead of using traditional film, Apex Dog and Cat Dentistry utilizes the Bioray digital sensor for obtaining dental x-rays. X-rays appear on a high quality computer monitor instead of developed on film. Digital x-rays offer many advantages over traditional film: increased speed (which is better for anesthetized patients), magnified images, elimination of biohazardous chemicals, less x-ray radiation, electronic storage, and the ability to easily share digital images with pet owners and family veterinarians.

New Publications
For the second year in a row, Dr. Beebe was invited by the Humane Society of the United States to author the dentistry section in the New Parent Guide magazine. This national publication is printed once yearly, and is provided to pet adopters throughout the US. One million copies of the guide go out each year to about 500 shelters and humane groups. The contents of the guide (basic articles on subjects of interest to new pet "parents") are authored by experts in the companion animal field including behaviorists, trainers, veterinarians, shelter workers, and others.

New Speaking Engagements
Also for the second year in a row, Dr. Beebe is honored to be selected as dentistry instructor at the North American Veterinary Conference Institute in Orlando, Florida. This is a continuing education seminar held yearly each May for general practice veterinarians from around the world who wish to advance their dental skills. Participating veterinarians immerse themselves in this week long, intensive course which includes daily lectures and laboratories. Participants submit to examination at the conclusion of the seminar series to assess their learning progress. Dr. Beebe is one of only four boarded veterinary dentists invited to teach at this international meeting.

This September at the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association annual convention, Dr. Beebe will be coordinating the Dentistry section of the continuing education seminars. This yearly meeting is for veterinarians from around the state, and Dr. Beebe will be lecturing on a variety of dental topics. He is especially pleased to be teaching alongside the other boarded veterinary dentists from Colorado at the hands-on laboratory practice sessions.

In addition to speaking engagements at the national and state level, Dr. Beebe frequently gives dentistry seminars locally in the Denver metro area. He conducts a regular evening lecture series at his VRCC facility, and also enjoys visiting referring veterinary practices for lunchtime dentistry lectures. He participates at the VRCC regional meeting, a quarterly continuing education seminar series for Colorado veterinarians. Dr. Beebe is frequently an invited speaker for veterinary pharmaceutical companies like Virbac Animal Health, Pfizer Animal Health, Merial, Webster, and Butler. In addition to his many professional seminars, Dr. Beebe enjoys speaking at local dog breed clubs, cat clubs, kennel organizations, and charity events.
